Vintage House Design

Vintage House Design Hello, welcome back. This time, I would like to present a single-storey vintage-style house with a front garden. It is a house design from Australia. The house is designed in a cottage style with a gable roof. The front has an awning with a slightly vintage pattern. It is another example of space management to have a garden outside both in the front and back with a complete lifestyle with an expected budget of around 1.5 million, excluding decoration costs.

The green area around the house creates a more pleasant and refreshing atmosphere. While inside the house, there is a usable area of around 140 sq.m., divided into 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, which can accommodate a small to medium-sized family very well.

The interior decoration of the house emphasizes bright colors with a contemporary style. All rooms are mainly in the same tone, which is white. The furniture is arranged to look spacious and airy. But if you get bored inside the house, you can still sit on the back balcony.

Khun Jiew and Khun Boy looked for a family home in many projects. Finally, they liked this housing estate because it is close to their parents’ house and there is enough space for a garden around the house. Then they planned to renovate the house. By assigning Khun Kamkan Manirote and Khun Nattapol Boon-Uthit, architects and interior designers from Bangkok Manifesto Co., Ltd., who are close friends, to help extend and decorate the house in a vintage style as the owner dreamed.

“I talked to the designer from the beginning that I didn’t like modern houses, white houses or white vintage style houses because I felt bored. My husband likes this style too. We often travel together. We saw different types of houses and talked about wanting a house like this, wanting to make a chic house, liking old things, not new things,” Khun Jiew recounted the origin of decorating this vintage style house.

The vintage feel can be seen from the garden around the house which is arranged to be shady. Before entering the house door, there is a cool breeze from a small fountain, looking refreshing and relaxing. When walking into the house, you can feel the warm feeling from the choice of color tones and patterns on the walls or various decorations which Khun Jiew chose almost every piece herself from many sources in Thailand, whether it be Chiang Mai, Ratchaburi or Bangkok.

As for the house plan, the designer changed many points from the original to suit the lifestyle of this family, such as removing the secondary entrance door from the parking lot and building a wall to be a shoe storage room instead. Adding a Thai kitchen outside and an additional maid’s room The upper floor also changed another bedroom into a dressing room and expanded the bathroom.

The highlight of this house’s decoration is the use of many stylish colors that look uniquely beautiful, including the mixing and matching patterns of antique tiles. “I experimented with almost 20 shades of color on the wall to find a color that I liked and that I could live with for a long time. I used to be someone who didn’t like staying at home much, but now I’m at home almost every day and don’t go anywhere.”

The idea for mixing and matching patterns of tiles came from the homeowner. At first, the designer didn’t recommend it because he was afraid that it would make the house look messy. However, in the end, the tiles that were chosen took several months to wait, so Khun Jiw decided to change to mixed colors and patterns as seen here. In addition to the stylish colors and patterns that help make the house look lively, the antique furniture and the picture of a Chinese woman in the dining area also give the house a sense of Chinese culture. This house therefore has a unique charm that clearly reflects the owner’s identity.

Vintage style is not just about choosing old things to decorate, but requires many elements. Colors and patterns are also part of what makes a house look less boring. This house is a perfect combination of new colors and classic patterns. The result is a house that looks sweet and beautiful, full of nostalgia.

Design Details
We can use beautiful, unique colors and patterns to decorate a vintage-style house to make it look fun and not boring. But it should be used only in one part of the room, such as the kitchen wall or furniture top, so that the house does not look messy or cluttered. We have cute ideas that you can adapt to suit your home.
A. Walls You should determine your favorite color pair from the beginning, such as yellow – blue or red – gray, so that it is easier to choose the color and pattern of the tiles. Then, arrange the tiles with different colors and patterns to look good on the desired area before actually decorating the walls. The remaining walls can be painted or covered with plain tiles to avoid drawing attention from the mixed-color and patterned walls.
B. Shelves The wall behind the shelves is also suitable for decorating with beautiful patterned tiles. The shelf space should be designed to fit the size of the tiles, so that they are easy to install. The advantage of using materials like tiles is that they can get wet and are easy to clean.
C. Kitchen walls In addition to determining the color pair to be used, You should also look for plain colored tiles to alternate with beautiful patterned tiles, such as the white, blue, and navy blue tiles on this kitchen wall, which helps prevent this corner from being too patterned. D. Necessities Small details like necessities such as cups, bowls, or heat-resistant gloves can easily add color and warmth to your home. Choose beautiful colors (which must match the color scheme of your home) and cute patterns (with a vintage feel) to make them both functional and decorative.

Medium-sized two-story house in English Colonial style that you will love. With an exterior design that is intentionally designed to please those who love vintage style, it looks beautiful, stylish and clean. With a gable roof, beautifully proportioned, it goes well with the walls covered with ready-made wooden siding in bright colors. The interior emphasizes openness and comfort with high doors and windows, combined with the layout of the living room and dining area that are spacious and continuous, looking very comfortable. On the upper floor, it is complete for everyone in the family with a large living room before entering the master bedroom area, which has a dressing room with an en-suite bathroom, 2 small bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The design emphasizes convenience, along with stylish beauty and good ventilation, making any part of the house a favorite corner for everyone in your family.
